Some thoughts about digital pictures
Here's an idea for you if you use a
digital camera. My old friend
GOOGLE provides a magnificent tool for handling digital photos.
It's called PICASA and is available fee as a download from the GOOGLE
website. With PICASA you can edit your photos, correct for red eye
and a plethora of other photo adjustments such as cropping, correcting
color casts, lightening or darkening, improving contrast, etc. And
you can email your photos and have PICASA automatically resize them for
optimum viewing and fast emailing. All of PICASA's features are
way too numerous to mention here so my recommendation is to download and
install a copy and try it out. Just click
HERE. Guaranteed
you won't be disappointed.

Here's something
you'll find very useful
Ever been sent a WORD document you
couldn't open because it was in DOCX format instead of DOC format?
Ever been sent a spreadsheet that you couldn't open because you didn't
have EXCEL? Now a group of major software companies have
collaborated on the design and distribution of Open Source Software for
office applications. This is free software, maintained by the
OpenSource organization and available free. Give it a try - you
may find it valuable.
OpenOffice.org 3
is the leading open-source office software
suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics,
databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all
common computers. It stores all your data in an international open
standard format and can also read and write files from other common
office software packages. It can be downloaded and used completely free
of charge for any purpose.
Free software
OpenOffice.org 3 is free software. That
means you are free to download it, free to install it on as many PCs
as you like, free to pass copies to as many people as you like. You
may use OpenOffice.org 3 for any purpose without restriction: private,
educational, public administration, commercial... Free, really free.

Just
leave it up to Google to come up with something like this!!!
Here's a
number worth putting in your cell phone, or your home phone speed dial:
1-800-goog411 or 1-800-466-4411.
This is an
awesome service from Google, and it's free -- great when you are on the
road. Don't waste your money on information calls and don't waste your
time manually dialing the number.
I am driving
along in my car and I need to call the club and I don't know the number.
I hit the speed dial for information that I have programmed
(1-800-goog411). The voice at the other end says, "Say the name of the
business and the City and State." I say, "Venice, Florida". The
voice says "say the name of the business." I say "Venice Golf and
Country Club" and it repeats the name and connects me! How great
is that? This is nationwide, Canada & US, and it is absolutely free!
Works on cell and landline phones.
Click on the
link below and watch the short clip for a quick demonstration.

Please Beware!
Many of us
have been receiving Emails from what appears to be a close friend that
says you could see their photos by going to a site called
Tagged.
If you go there it may suck up your address book. If you get an
Email with the word TAGGED, DELETE
it. Don't open it, as it puts your address book at risk of being
violated.
We received
the following email from a neighbor and we're sure everyone who uses a
computer can benefit from its advice.
Any time you see an
e-mail that says forward this on to
'10' of your friends, sign this petition, or you'll get bad luck, good
luck, or whatever, it almost always has an e-mail
tracker program attached that tracks the cookies and e-mails of those
folks you forward to. The host sender is getting a copy each time it
gets forwarded and then is able to get lists of 'active '
e-mail addresses to use in SPAM e-mails, or sell
to other spammers!
Almost all e-mails that ask you to add your name and forward on to
others are similar to that mass letter years ago that asked people to
send business cards to the little kid in who wanted to break the
Guinness Book of Records for the most cards. All it was, and all any of
this type of e-mail is, is a way to get names and 'cookie' tracking
information for telemarketers and spammers - - to validate active e-mail
accounts for their own profitable purposes.
If you have been sending out (FORWARDING) the above kinds of e-mail, now
you know why you get so much SPAM!
Do yourself a favor and STOP adding your name to those types of
listings regardless how inviting
they might sound!
You may think you are supporting a GREAT cause, but you are NOT in the
long run. Instead, you will be getting tons of junk mail later!
Plus, we're helping the spammers get rich!
Also: E-mail petitions are NOT acceptable to the Federal
Government, (including the US Congress) or any other organization.
To be acceptable, petitions must have a signed signature and full
address of the person signing the petition.
