When The Unexpected Happens...
 We
recently did an asphalt rejuvenation project for one of our local
communities where someone had thrown a can of wet paint in the dumpster,
the can got crushed in the compactor in the dump truck and
leaked onto the roadway throughout the property. Wet paint is
actually considered a hazardous waste material and cannot be legally
disposed of in a regular dumpster. As you can probably imagine there is
no easy clean-up for a mess like this. On that note, Asphalt Restoration Technology Systems, Inc proudly presents this classic DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU moment... |

What is Hazardous Waste?
Educating residents
on what is actually considered hazardous waste will
reduce unwanted disposal in your community dumpsters. As
per the Seminole County Government's website some examples of hazardous
waste include;
|
Anti-Freeze |
Paints | |
Automobile Batteries |
Poisons | |
Compact Fluorescent Lights |
Pool Chemicals | |
|
Propane Tanks | |
Fluorescent Light Tubes |
Rechargeable Batteries | |
Gasoline and Cans (Up to 5 gallons) |
Solvents | |
Glues |
| |
Insecticides |
Thermostats | |
Lawn Chemicals |
Thermometers | |
Mercury-Containing Devices |
Used Oil |

In
the column called Quick Links, you will find some helpful links to
sites that can offer more information on how and where you can dispose
of hazardous waste materials. Pass this information on to the residents
in your community to prevent future problems on your property. |
